Weekly Update: 4/23 – 5/1

 In News

Hello TOW Families,

Angels players Kole Calhoun and Garrett Richards visited TOW on Tuesday. It felt like Angels Stadium at the lunch tables with all the red our students were wearing! Excitement ran high as some lucky audience members got called on to ask the players questions and four lucky students walked away with signed baseballs.  I resisited the urge to wear my Yanlees landyard!  I couldn’t get myself to don an Angel’s jersey though. Don’t miss Laguna Family Night at Angel’s Stadium on May 30!

OPEN HOUSE DATE CORRECTION

TOW’s Open House will be Thursday, May 28.  The date was changed in early September after the PTA calendars were printed so I apologize for the confusion.

INTRODUCTION TO CLARITY E-MAIL FOR PARENTS

We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational software company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning. For that reason, we are reaching out to ask you to take part in the Clarity questionnaire. Your participation is essential in helping us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in your students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. Clarity questionnaire

5TH GRADE FOOD DRIVE

The TOW 5th graders are holding a Food Drive on Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd and 3rd from 10am – 4pm at all four downtown grocery stores. Shop at Ralph’s, Pavilions, Whole Foods, or Haggen either day and pick up a few extra items to be donated to the Laguna Food Pantry. Email LBHS2022@gmail.com for more information.

CELL PHONE USE ON BUSES

I wanted to clarify the school rules for cell phones.  We ask students to turn their phones off when the enter campus and are not supposed to turn them back on until they get picked up or exit the bus after school.  Some bus drivers allow students to listen to music or play a game on their phone while on the bus.  If this is the case, students need to make sure they are using their phone appropriately.
